Police Employee Associations of Ridgecrest (PEAR)
I am honored to have earned the endorsement of the Police Employee Associations of Ridgecrest (PEAR) in my campaign for the Ridgecrest City Council.
I appreciated the opportunity to meet with PEAR members and share a little about myself and my vision for our community. More importantly, I welcomed the chance to hear about the challenges they face in serving and protecting Ridgecrest. Although they were there to hear about me and my campaign, my greatest takeaway was a better understanding of what they wish City Council understood about their work.
We talked candidly about keeping good officers, competitive pay, and the strain that losing even one officer puts on a small department. Those are concerns I take seriously and would bring to my work on City Council. I appreciated their trust in sharing them with me.
City Council decisions affect police employees in two connected ways: through the working conditions and resources that shape their ability to serve, and through the quality of life those decisions help create for their families and neighbors. Their perspective brings both the job’s responsibilities and our community’s everyday concerns to the conversation.
For me, supporting public safety means listening to those doing the work, asking informed questions, and making thoughtful budget decisions. It also means transparency, accountability, and following through. A strong police department and public trust depend on that ongoing commitment.
Thank you to PEAR’s members for placing your trust in me. I trust the work you do to serve and protect our community, and your confidence in me to serve Ridgecrest on City Council is an honor I hold close. I am committed to honoring that trust through my actions.
